Seattle Frankenfunk presents The PBJ (The Popping Breakin Jam)! The PBJ is a free-entry 2v2 breakin and poppin competition held over two days in Seattle.
The prelims and top 8 will be a single style 1v1 battle on Sunday, July 28th at Judkins Park bball courts. Once the top four have been determined they will be placed into 2-person teams.
The semi-finals and finals will take place on the waterfront at Pier 62 Thursday, August 8th. This will consist of four groups from the previously paired duos from day 1.
The semi-finalists, finalists and champions will all receive cash prizes, as listed in slide three.
The PBJ is a harkening back to the days when poppers and breakers used to battle as one crew, with the hope that the comunities can grow together and deepen the street dance community in Seattle. This event will emphasize connections within hip hop, funk, and Latin music, while spotlighting stories and voices from both communities.
This is sure to be a hype event for all dance communities in Seattle, get excited for this two-part one of a kind event and stay on the lookout for the judge, DJ, and emcee announcements to come!
